12 Weeks: Sept 7th – November 30th (No Class on October 26th or November 23rd)
Wednesdays: 6:15pm – 7:45pm
All levels of experience welcome.
This is a tri topic workshop. Each class will embrace a yoga practice that includes asana (poses), pranayama (breath), mediation, the use on mantras, and essential oils. Emphasis will also be placed on a restorative practice that is relaxing, calming and rejuvenating for the body, mind and spirit. This is a unique and fun opportunity for self- discovery, education, fun, play, relaxation and community connection
Topic 1: Each Chakra will have a specially designed yoga practice that compliments is qualities through asana, pranayama, mediation, mantra and the use of essential oil.
Topic 2: Reading and Discussing the Five Agreements, a short book that encourages self-insight.
Topic 3: Fundamentals of core yoga poses, such as Warrior I & II, Childs Pose, Tree Pose, etc. You will learn how to properly and safely set up and align within poses, the benefits and risks and modifications to make the pose meet your needs.
How it Works:
Topics will alternate weekly. Ex:
Week One: We will explore Chakra 1
Week Two: Discuss our reading and learn the fundamentals of two new poses.
Week Three: Chakra 2
Week Four: Discuss our reading and learn the fundamentals of two new poses.
Cost: $180.00 made in two payments: Sept. 7th $90.00, Oct. 19th
Includes: Class materials, education and yoga practice.
Yosemite Yoga 101
Together we will explore new movements that encourage balance, strength and stability in the body, mind and heart. To increase our connection between the body and mind emphasis will be placed on postural alignment, the purpose of our practice and embodiment techniques. The practice of yoga naturally develops a quieter mind, reduces stress, strengthens the nervous system, heals physical and emotional wounds, creates peacefulness and taps into our inner joy allowing us to be present as our best selves.
This Yoga 101 Experience Will Cover:
The benefits of Yoga.
The benefits of pranayama.
Sun Salutation A
Poses to build strength and personal power.
Restorative poses to calm and rejuvenate the body and mind.
Breathing techniques to focus & calm racing thoughts.
Practices for developing awareness.
How to use props to assist and deepen your practice.
How to use props to aid with limitations.
Skills to develop your own practice.
Confidence to join communal yoga classes.
Dates: January 26th-29th 2017 (Thur. - Sun)
Type of Program: Introductory yoga and adventure intensive. This program is designed to deepen your connection in nature and build confidence in your yogic practice while teaching the origins, history, poses, proper posture alignment, breathing techniques, etiquette and values of yoga. Together we will learn, adventure and rejuvenate in the company of our new found “kula” or yoga community.
Cost: $650 - $800 depending on accommodation choice. $540.00 without lodging.
CEU: 2.6 unauthorized Continuing Education Credits are offered for this course. Please let us know if you would like these when you register.
-Four fun filled days of yoga education, practice, class materials and a journal. Available for in studio use: yoga blocks, blankets, straps, bolsters and a yoga mat if needed.
- Four days and three nights accommodation at the historic Hotel Charlotte in Groveland, Ca.
- Three healthful buffet breakfasts (Fri. Sat. and Sun.), two nourishing sit-down dinners (Fri and Sat.) from the Fork & Love Restaurant at the Hotel Charlotte. Three lunches and five snacks provided by the Historic Iron Door Restaurant and Firefall Coffee shop. Alcoholic beverages are not included, but are available. Allergen free, vegetarian and vegan options available with prior notice.
-One guided day trip into Yosemite National Park with the renowned guiding company, YExplore for hiking, reflection and enjoyment of the park’s scenic vistas.
-Not included: Gratuity for restaurant servers and adventure guides.
What You Will Need:
- For yoga practice: Comfortable clothing that you can move freely in and that is not excessively loose. A water bottle. A yoga mat.
-For the day trip into Yosemite: Clothes that you can layer. Weather in the mountains at this time of year is variable, it may start off cold then heat up. Hiking shoes with good grip. A small day pack, sunglasses, hat, sunblock, lip balm and any other hiking accessories you prefer.
-Flights can be taken into San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose or Sacramento International Airports. From there you will need to rent a car to get you to Groveland.
-We will be providing transportation into Yosemite on our one appointed day only.
The Hotel Charlotte is located in the center of historic Groveland a short walking distance to U R Love Yoga and Wellness Studio, local coffee houses, eateries, a grocery store, entertainment and historical points of interest. We will not be providing any transportation out side of our day trip into Yosemite.

Requirements: A minimum of six bookings is required two weeks prior to the start date for this workshop to take place as planned. In the event that the workshop is cancelled due to low attendance, we will contact you by e-mail two weeks prior to the start date. Your entire deposit will be refunded.
Booking Policy: A deposit equal to 50% of the cost of the workshop will be taken at the time of booking to hold your reservation. The balance is due upon arrival. Payments will be made through the Hotel Charlotte.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 14 or more days before the start of the workshop we will refund your deposit to you (minus a $30.00 cancellation fee). If you cancel less than 14 days before the start of the workshop, you will forfeit your deposit and receive no refund.
